Today's coatings are far superior to any we offered back then, but you have to make sure you are getting a major brand such as Crizal by Essilor, Hoya, Shamir or Zeis. They hold up much better and offer added scratch resistance. The major brands are a bit more pricy, they are worth every penny! The cheap brands will begin to breakdown and peal in a matter of months and offer less scratch resistance and may not be UV protective. If you are purchasing a bargain coating, you are not getting a good brand. In this case, it is definitely the old story...You get what you pay for!
