Ever Wonder Why Your Eye Glasses Won't stay Adjusted..............

Careless frame and lens caring and handling are only one of the reasons why your eyewear comes out of adjustment frequently. If you practice taking your glasses on and off with two hands, they tend to hold the adjustment longer. Rather then if you just pull them off with one hand. In addition, cleaning one lens at a time rather than both lenses at once, helps in keeping the adjustment true for a longer period of time.

With that said, there is another hugh factor in the frame and lens fabrication process. At Design For Vision we take the time to chamfer the frame bevel at the hinge area. This is an arduous process that takes additional time, but when assembled it stops the temples on your glasses from expanding outwards. Therefore, when our opticians adjust your new eyewear, you're beautifully fabricated eyewear stay intact much longer. No one that we know of any industry is currently using this practice. I ashore you, that this is a problem and some of today's eyewear and most opticians are unaware. Believe it or not it is more prevalent in the more expensive eyewear and at least half of the Zyl styles that we see.

Most automobiles, these days, have a front windshield that is near 45° angle. Reflection at that angle, from the dashboard, can be a real problem. Polarized lenses will eliminate that reflection and you will have an unobstructed view through your windscreen. It is amazing how much clearer you will see and what a safer driver you will be! In addition, reflections and road glare are significantly reduced!

The term polarization or polarized is derived from the manufacturing process of these lenses.

Today, polarized lenses are available in many different colors and densities. The three most popular colors are; gray, brown and gray-green (G-15). Polarized lenses are also available in lighter tints and gradients. However, the effectiveness of the polarization is diminished in lighter colors.
Recently, Essilor and Transitions has developed a variable polarization lens that changes from light to dark called Transitions Vantage. The lens has had limited success since polarization is only effective when the lens gets dark and does not work behind the windshield of a vehicle. www.mauijim.com
