High index lenses, for the most part, are available in basically four different degrees high-density plastic. The higher the refractive index the thinner the lens. Also, the higher the refractive index, the more expensive lens becomes. Therefore, if your prescription is only mild you don't need more expensive lens. At Design for Vision we will advise you accordingly so you don't waste your money and get the best looking eyewear!

Once you purchase these lenses it is now up to the opticians to fabricate the high index lenses so that they properly hide the thickness within the eye wire of the frame. From what we see in most of the eyewear that we see made elsewhere, this detail is not being covered.
